Jeevan Raksha Padak announced

New Delhi : January 6,2012

The Government has selected 43 persons to be honored with the Jeeven Raksha Padak of these two Sarvottam Jeevan Raksha Padak, Six Uttam Jeevan Raksha Padak, and 35 Jeevan Raksha Padak are being awarded. Six of the awardees are being honored posthumously

 

Jeevan Raksha Padak series of awards are given to a person for meritorious act of human nature in saving the life of a person. The award is given in three categories, namely, Sarvottam Jeevan  Raksha Padak, Uttam  Jeevan Raksha Padak and Jeevan Raksha Padak.Persons of either sex in all walks of life are eligible for these awards. The award can also be conferred posthumously. The lump sum monetary allowance is given at the rate of Rs. 75000, Rs. 45000 and Rs.30000 to the Sarvottam Jeevan Raksha Padak, Uttam Jeevan Raksha Padak and Jeevan Raksha Padak awardees respectively.

 

The decoration of the award (medal,certificate signed by the Home minister and demand draft for lump sum monetary allowance) is presented to the awardee  in due course by the respective State Government to which the awardees belongs.
