The international crude oil price for Indian Basket as computed/published today by the Petroleum Planning and Analysis Cell (PPAC) under the Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas decreased declined on 17.4.2012 to US$ 115.94 per barrel (bbl) as compared to US$ 116.74 /bbl representing the price of 16.04.2012.

In rupee terms also, the crude oil price registered fall to Rs 5985.98 on 17.4.2012 against Rs  6030.79 per bbl on 16.04.2012. This was due to decline in crude oil price in dollar terms, though rupee-dollar exchange rate remained almost same will slight appreciation on 17.4.2012 at Rs 51.63 /US$ against Rs 51.66 /US$ on 16.04.2012.
