Amir Khan's 'Satyameva Jayate' to be telecast on DD National from May 6

In a first of its kind initiative, Bollywood star Amir Khan’s maiden TV venture, ‘Satyameva Jayate’ will be telecast simultaneously on DD National and STAR Plus and other regional channels.   The show will be beamed from 11 a.m. to 12.30 p.m. every Sunday, beginning May 6.

 

‘Satyameva Jayate’ is based on real of stories and focuses on issues that affect the day to day lives of ordinary people.   Amir Khan has traveled across the country for the serial, which is a result of some long drawn, painstaking research.

 

Interacting in a Face To Face with Doordarshan DG Tripurari Sharan in Mumbai, 47 year old Amir Khan described his show as an ambitious project and said that the journey was an emotive roller coaster. He further said that “with this show I want to reach out to a larger audience, and hence the decision to telecast it on Doordarshan also”.

 

"This is not just a show for me, it’s a journey. A journey of discovery, of change, of emotions, of human stories which touch and inspire us. My dream is to impact lives” said Amir Khan Asked whether the show holds a mirror to the society, Amir Khan replied that he has attempted to hold a mirror to himself. “So much so good, if the society can benefit from what I see in the mirror,” he added. He further emphasized that people should come forward to support the social causes in order to strengthen democracy in the country.

 

The promos of the show are already on with Amir Khan hinting the audience that they can stretch their sleep longer on a Sunday morning, and he will come at 11 a.m. to wake up (or rather awaken) every body.

 

The music director of popular Bollywood movie Dehli Belly, Ram Sampath, has composed the theme songs for ‘Satyameva Jayate’, whereas Prasoon Joshi has written the lyrics. Singer Keerthi Sagathia has sung the songs.
