Coal India Ltd proposes
to invest Rs 4,275 crores to augment coal production as per the Annual
Plan 2012-13 to achieve the target of 464.10 million tonnes. In addition
a budget provision of Rs. 5000 crore has been made for acquisition of
assets abroad and Rs. 500 crore for development of Coal Block in
Mozambique. CIL has proposed a total capital expenditure of Rs 24,400
crores during the 12th Plan period of 2012-17.
This information was given by Shri Pratik Prakashbapu Patil, Minister of
State for Coal while replying a written question in Rajya Sabha today.
