BPCL registers net sale turnover of Rs.2,22,500 crores

The Bharat Petroleum Corporation Ltd. (BPCL)
has recorded a sales turnover of Rs.222500.47 crores for the year
2011-12. The profit before tax for the year is Rs.1884 crore as compared
to Rs.2394 crore in 2011-11 The total refining capacity of the Group
also grew and the throughput for the year was a record of 26.72 MMT.
The group registered a record of sales volumes of 31.48 MMT as against
29.58 MMTs during previous year. BPCL’s net worth as on 31st
March 2012 was Rs.1491 crore as compared to Rs.14058 crore as at the end
of the previous year. The BPCL board has recommended a dividend of 110%
( Rs. 11 per share) and issued bonus share in the ratio of 1:1.
BPCL’s foray into Exploration and
Production received fresh impetus with World class finds of oil and gas
in Brazil and Mozambique by its wholly owned subsidiary Bharat Petro
Resources Ltd.(BPRL). There was oil discovery in Nunukan Block in
Indonesia as well.. A recent find in Cauvery basin has been announced
by the company where BPRL has ONGC as the consortium partner.
The company proposes to initiate the
Integrated Refinery Expansion Project in Kochi to increase the capacity
of the Koch Refinery next year an outlay of about Rs.20,000 crore. BPCL
is ranked 225th in the Global Fortune 500 companies list.
