Bollywood bids tearful farewell to Veteran filmmaker Yash Chopra

Mumbai: October 22,2012

Veteran Film maker Yash Chopra’s funeral was held at Mumbai today as the Bollywood bid a tearful farewell to the king of romance. The 80 year old doyen  of Indian Cinema had passed away yesterday due to multiple  organ failure following Dengue at Mumbai.  The Director General,  Films Division, Mr. V. S. Kundu  and Managing Director of National Film Development Corporation(NFDC) Nina Lath Gupta paid floral tributes to the  departed soul on behalf of the Information & Broadcasting Minister Ms. Ambika Soni. The Information & Broadcasting Minister has also conveyed her heart felt condolence to the family of the legendary  film maker.

 

Yash Chopra who had directed 22 films,  many of which were blockbusters,  won 6 National film award and 11 Filmfare awards in his career which spanned more than 5 decades.
