Power Grid Corporation
of India Ltd a “Navratna” Company and the central Transmission Utility
of the country, has registered a net profit of Rs. 3225 crore on
turnover of Rs. 10785 cr. in the FY 2011-12, registering a growth of
about 19% in turnover and 21% in net profit compared to FY 2010-11 and
company has declared a total dividend of 21.1% for financial year
Total Income for second quarter (July –September2012) has increased from
Rs. 2459cr. to Rs. 3243cr. in the corresponding quarter of previous
year.32% growth is registered.
The Company has posted a profit after tax of INR 11258.90 million for
the quarter ended September 30th 2012 as compared to INR 7087.40 million
for the quarter ended September 30th 2011.
At preseny , POWERGRID is operating more than 96216 ckt.kms. of
transmission lines along with 158 sub-stations with transformation
capacity of about 151303 MVA. The existing Inter –Regional power
transmission capacity is about 28000MW and the average system
availability is maintained at above 99%
For the Quarter ended September 30, 2012 the company’s turnover and net
profit was Rs3243 cr. and Rs1126 cr. respectively and as on 30th
September 2012. Total fixed Assets were Rs.72598 cr.
The PGCIL has taken leadership initiative for implementation of smart
grid technology in the country and has implemented 8 Phase Measurement
Units (PMU’s) using wide area measurement systems(WAMS)in Northen Region
Grid , for the first time in India.
