States Consultate for Rapid Roll Out of Direct Cash Transfer Scheme

New Delhi: December 11,2012

Secretary Planning Commission, Ms.SindhushreeKhullartoday took review meeting with 11 states and 6 Union Territories to discuss preparedness for a rapid roll-out of the Direct Cash Transfer Scheme. It was held through video conferencing and was attended by Secretary, D/o School Education & Literacy, Secretary, D/o Higher Education, Secretary, D/o Social Justice & Empowerment, Secretary, D/o Tribal Affairs,Secretary, D/o Minority Affairs, Secretary, D/o Health & Family Welfare,Secretary, D/o Labour Employment,Secretary, D/o Women & Child Development and senior official of UIDAI and other central ministries.

 

During the conference senior officials from various states also apprised on preparedness of their part and infrastructure arrangements to be tied up for the roll-out of Cash Transfer Scheme. The Central Government has identified 34 government schemes for a rapid roll-out of Direct Cash Transfer Scheme in 43 districts of the country from January 1st, 2013.
