A day-long Vartalap
(Rural Media Workshop) is being organised at Jalna, on March 02, 2017 by
Press Information Bureau, Government of India, Mumbai. The objective of
the workshop is to build direct interface between the PIB’s
Regional/Branch offices and the journalists working at district and
sub-district levels. It would also help PIB to build up a data base of
the journalists working at district and sub-district levels so that the
PIB releases may be sent directly to them.
The Press Information Bureau, a nodal organisation of the government of
India for dissemination of information about its policies and
programmes. The Bureau is the main interface between the central
government and media for reaching out to the public. The regional media
workshop has been considered in the above spirit.
District Collector, Shri Shivaji Jondhale will inaugurate the workshop.
Prof. B.Y. Kulkarni, Sr. Journalist, Jalna will deliver a key-note
address on Role of Journalism in creating awareness about developmental
schemes. Shri Raosaheb Dhavale, Sr. Journalist, Jalna will interact on
Role in publicity of developmental schemes. Shri Suresh Kesapurkar,
District Representative, Maharashtra Times, Jalna will interact with the
media on Crises Management and Media. Shri S.K. Bawaskar, District
Information Officer, Jalna will interact with the media persons on Role
of Social / New Media in Information Dissemination system and Shri P.M.
Holkar, Lead Bank Manager, Bank of Maharashtra Jalna will interact with
the press on Financial Inclusion Schemes, Social Security and Digital
Transactions. Shri Nitin Sapre, Asstt. Director, Press Information
Bureau, Mumbai will also interact with the media on Effective
Information Flow from PIB and Role of Rural Journalist in Development
