The Indian Council for
Cultural relations, Mumbai and National Gallery of Modern Art (NGMA) is
jointly presenting a Special International Women’s Day Concert “SHREE”
(portrayal of the women through Carnatic Music by Dr. Vasumathi
Badrinathan from Mumbai under Horizon Series Programme at NGMA
Auditorium, 2nd Floor, National Gallery of Modern Art, Sir Cowasji
Jehangir Public Hall, M.G. Road Mumbai on Thursday 9th March2017 at 6.30
pm. The program is free for the public and seating will be on first –
come first served basis.
Dr. Vasumathi Badrinathan is an eminent multi huad Indian artiste and
vocalist, performing in the Carnatic music tradition over three decades.
She is a one of the recipients of the prestigious Fulbright scholarship
& Erasmus Scholarship & the Erasmus Mundus Scholarship. She is an “A”
graded artiste of the All India Radio, an empanelled artist of the
Indian Council for Cultural Relations (ICCR) and a fellowship recipient
of Govt. of India, Vasumati has been awarded several titles including “Surmani”,
“Singara Mani”, Padma Kala Sagara and Padma Bharati.
