India: Role of Sardar Patel” - the digital
exhibition, which showcases the integration of India and the
contribution of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, will be inaugurated by
Governor of Maharashtra Shri C Vidyasagar Rao tomorrow i.e. 19th
January, 2017, at 5.30 PM at Nehru Science Centre, Mumbai. It has been
prepared with the inspiration of the Prime Minister of India Shri
This exhibition is a travelling version of the permanent exhibition,
which the Prime Minister of India had inaugurated at the National
Science Centre, New Delhi on 31st October 2016, the birth day of Sardar
Patel. This exhibition, a project of the Ministry of Culture, Government
of India, has been mentored by the Prime Minister, who spent more than
90 minutes in previewing the exhibition at the National Science Centre,
New Delhi on 27th October, 2016 before formally dedicating the
exhibition to the nation on 31st October 2016.
The exhibition has around 30 exhibits, and features about 20 different
kinds of interactive and media experiences. It provides visitors with a
range of opportunities to engage with various digital installations
which explain the role of Sardar Patel in the unification of India.
Technologies like 3D films (without glasses), Holographic Projection,
Kinetic Projection, Oculus based Virtual Reality experience etc have
been used in the exhibition. The archives include the accession
documents signed by various princely states which were a result of
Sardar Patel’s role in integrating the nation, by convincing princely
states to join the Union.
