NSSO Officers undergo training in Nagpur ahead of Service Sector Enterprises Survey

 


Nagpur: January 18,2017

A two day training conference on Data Processing of NSS 74th Round for SERVICE SECTOR ENTERPRISES was organized during 16-17th January,2017 at ‘Hotel Heritage’ Nagpur for the officers and technical staff of Data Processing Centre, National Sample Survey Office (NSSO), Nagpur. Officers of Directorate of Economics and Statistics of 5 States viz. Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra, Chhattisgarh, Andhra Pradesh and Telangana also participated in the training programme under the State Assistance Scheme of NSSO. The training workshop was presided and inaugurated by T.K, Basu, Deputy Director General & Centre Head, Data Processing Centre, Nagpur. Sumedh Nagrare, Director, Zonal Office, Field Operations Division (FOD),Nagpur was the chief guest on this occasion. and Keynote address was delivered by Nilanjana Roy, Director, Data Processing Division (HQ), Kolkata. All the participants were formally welcomed by R.L.Sahu, Director and HO, Nagpur. The inaugural programme was compared by Ruhi Kulkarni,Assistant Director. The survey results will enable the Government and other users towards formulation of policies required for various developmental works of the county.

In his Inaugural and presidential speech T.|K.Basu gave a brief account of the objectives of NSS 74th Round a survey of Service Sector Enterprises. Further he gave introduction to sample design of NSS 74th Round. Sumedh Nagrare, Director FOD(WZ) delivered speech on Field Observations on NSS 74th round. Nilanjana Roy gave key-note speech on NSS 74th Round. R. Kiran Kumar, Director delivered a speech on survey of service sector. He highlighted on important statistical indicators to be developed from the survey to monitor Millennium Development Goals.

The inaugural session was followed by technical sessions on schedules 2.35, its System Design and the Data Entry Package. Various scrutiny points was deliberated in details by Ku. Kirti Gaikwad, Assistant Director, Ku. Ruhi Kulkarni, Assistant Director. Prashant D. Bhagat, DPA GR.-I, V.S. Meshram, DPA I and C.R. Gaupale were also the speakers of technical sessions. Shri R. Kiran Kumar, Director worked as the training co-ordinator of the conference.

The training workshop ended on 17th January,2017 with a vote of thanks to the Chair by Jagurti Dave, DPA Gr. II of DP Centre, Nagpur.
